Can you imagine how different the world would look if love was our most common language?
Or if those who claim to know Christ actually loved like Him?

Love for one another is one of the most — if not the most — scarce resources in our world today. The book of 1 Corinthians was written by Paul to address the division within the Corinthian church, as well as to rebuke the prideful behavior and self-centered attitudes that were tearing it apart. The church was full of talent, gifting, and influence — but lacking the one thing that mattered most: love.

And honestly, not much has changed. Pride still drives people today — even in spaces meant to reflect humility. We see it in churches, on social media, and in everyday life. There’s a growing trend where people serve or give publicly, not to glorify God, but to glorify themselves. Good deeds become content, and compassion becomes performance.

But Paul’s message cuts straight through all of that noise: “If I do not have love, I am nothing.”
That means no matter how gifted, busy, or accomplished we are — if love isn’t our motive, our impact is hollow.

Because love isn’t measured by what we post; it’s revealed by what we practice.

God is love — not in theory, but in truth.
He loved first, and His kind of love changes how we treat people who can’t benefit us, agree with us, or applaud us.
It’s the kind of love that serves in silence, forgives freely, and chooses compassion over competition.

So this week, ask yourself:
Are you making noise, or making impact?
Are your actions rooted in performance, or in genuine love?
Because real love doesn’t need attention — it gives it.
And if the world could see the love of Christ lived out through us, not just spoken about, it would start to look a whole lot more like Heaven.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to love like You do — purely, humbly, and without seeking anything in return. Strip away pride, and fill me with compassion that reflects Your heart.
Teach me to speak and serve from love, not from ego. Let everything I do point others to You. Amen.
