“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." – Matthew 7:24 ESV
The Leaning Tower of Pisa has been a global attraction for centuries, but what if I told you it was never meant to lean? The tower’s original designer, Bonanno Pisano, envisioned it as a grand bell tower standing tall beside a church. However, just five years into construction, it began to tilt—not due to faulty craftsmanship, but because its foundation was unstable. The soft ground beneath it couldn’t support the structure, causing it to gradually sink.
It wasn’t until 2008 that engineers finally stabilized the lean, but by then, its original purpose had already been compromised.
What can we gain from this? That a weak foundation prevents something from standing as it was meant to. The same is true in our lives. We may strive for greatness, pursue purpose, and build our futures, but without a firm, eternal foundation in Jesus Christ, everything we build is at risk of collapsing.
Matthew 7:24 calls believers to be not just hearers, but doers of the Word (James 1:22). True faith is more than knowledge—it requires active obedience. Obedience is our responsibility, but the outcome belongs to God. He has a special and specific purpose for each of us, but only He can bring it to fruition.
No matter what circumstances arise, we cannot allow them to change how we view God. Instead, we must allow God to change how we view our circumstances.
God is the foundation that never fails. Make Him your focus this week. 🙌🏾
Prayer:
God, I thank you for allowing me to see another day and for blessing me with your presence. I thank you God for being the rock and the anchor of my life and for being faithful in the midst of my shortcomings. I ask that this week you would help me to set all that I do in you alone and that you would be my guide. I love you and thank you for loving me. Amen.

Certainly enjoyed your comment love the part about how we can’t let the changes that occur in our lives effect how we look at Jesus Christ and God never fails. Nana Petteway Kelly
Excellent- I love your point about a foundation in Jesus requires obedience and that God allows us to see out circumstances differently / thank you
