When someone first hears the name '2:20 Vision,' they might immediately think of '20/20 vision,' which is a term for near-perfect visual clarity. This association is intentional. Our company's mission is to elevate, empower, and inspire athletes to place their true faith and worth in Jesus Christ, regardless of their circumstances. And while this may be easier said than done, the real transformation occurs when we confess our sins, come to know Christ, and commit ourselves to His teachings. Only then will our eyes be opened to the truth.
The verse that "2:20" is referencing comes out of the book of Galatians which was written by the apostle Paul and reads as follows:
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20, NIV)
This verse just about perfectly gives us a summary of what it means to be a Christian. It presents the call that we all have as believers to die to our flesh and embrace the newfound life we have in Jesus. The Gospel of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection is both transformative and trustworthy.
Everyone, no matter who you are, where you're from, or what you believe, has made mistakes. In other words, we all have sinned (Rom. 3:23). And because we all have sinned against God, we are now separated from Him. This separation between God and humankind that has been created by sin becomes e need a Savior to redeem us and to make us right and pure in the eyes of God – and this Savior is Jesus Christ. By accepting His sacrifice on the cross, acknowledging His resurrection, and embracing Him as Lord and Savior, we undergo a profound transformation.
This transformation allows us to shed our old selves and embrace a new identity in Christ. It's not just about being saved from sin, but about being shaped into Christ's likeness. Through His grace, we find strength to overcome our weaknesses and courage to face life’s challenges. As believers, we are called to live lives that reflect this change—lives of integrity, love, and unwavering faith. At 2:20 Vision, we are committed to living out this transformative journey, encouraging each other to see beyond the physical and into the spiritual realm where true vision and purpose are found.
As we've just discussed, the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to transform our lives from the inside out once we accept, acknowledge, and embrace Him as Lord and Savior. But how can we know this to be true? What makes the Gospel trustworthy? The answer lies in the tangible changes that occur in the lives of those who follow Christ, and the historical grounding of the Gospel itself. Eyewitness accounts from the New Testament, written by those who walked and talked with Jesus, provide compelling evidence of His life, death, and resurrection. The apostles, many of whom were willing to face persecution and martyrdom, would not have sacrificed their lives for something they knew to be false. This profound commitment underpins the trustworthiness of their testimonies.
Moreover, the consistency of transformation across diverse cultures and histories, along with the fulfillment of biblical prophecies and the enduring impact of Jesus' teachings, further validates the reliability of the Gospel. Personal testimonies from millions around the world add to this evidence, showcasing the radical changes and profound peace found in embracing Christ. These elements collectively underscore the Gospel's credibility and invite others to experience its transformative power.
